Wonderful Wednesday!

Today was a wonderful Wednesday!  It was a bit different this morning because we took the NWEA math test.  While students were not testing, IXL and Spelling City were options.

This morning, students went to Engage and then lunch.  After lunch, we talked about the new team policy about leaving during class.  Your child can tell you all about this!  Then, it was time for art!

After art, we worked on science with the Harvath class.  The two classes really work well when grouped together.

Here is the comic from yesterday's Valentine's Party!

What a LOVELY Valentine's Day!

To begin, thank you to all the parents who helped with our excellent Valentine's Party.  Thank you, also, to all parents for sending your child in with Valentine's. The kids really love passing out and receiving treats from their friends!

This morning we had book clubs, then math, and finally co-teaching with Mrs. Truesdell.  The ecosystem PSAs are coming along nicely.  We will work more on them tomorrow and Thursday.

After swimming and lunch, we had DEAR and then Spanish.  We watched the Valentine's Day Magic School Bus and then ended the day with our wonderful party!

Today was a GREAT Monday!

Today was a great day!  We began with a new book club genre - Realistic Fiction!  The kids really seemed to enjoy learning about the elements that characterize Realistic Fiction.  Then, each group received their books and began reading.  We also worked on reading after math.  This week we will have double reading time so that we can finish our books before leaving on break.

During third grade math, we practiced paper and pencil timed tests, since we always take them on the computer.  The kids did great!  Then, we checked the math boxes from lesson 6.6.  Tonight's homework is to practice facts in all four operations.

After Engage and lunch, we had DEAR and a brief classroom meeting.  Then, we finished sharing book club projects from the informational genre.  Lastly, we had science for the remainder of the day.  We investigated different types of pollutants and talked about pollution and how it impacts ecosystems.
