We had a terrific late start day. The day flew by! At the end of the day we worked as a group of 54 and talked about positive role models and friends. Your child is bringing home a list of traits for positive and negative friends. There is also a list of words to help students describe their emotions effectively and respectfully. 

Also, thank you to those who already placed book orders. There is still time to place yours by Friday morning. Thanks in advance!

Fabulous FITNESS Friday!

We had a fabulous day!  This morning after math we had our usual morning recess.  After recess was reading and a visit to the Media Center and book room.  We spent an short time on grammar this morning with Daily Oral Language.  After lunch were Engage and Art/Eng. Tech.  We ended our classroom time with silent reading time and planners.

One highlight of our day was our guest, Shaina Allen, who lead a CrossFit experience for our team! Please check out the pictures on FaceBook.  THANK YOU SHAINA!  We had a blast!

Terrific Tuesday!

Today was a terrific day!  After math we enjoyed our morning recess.  As a team, we read the book Owen & Mzee: The True Story of a Remarkable Friendship.  Next, we spent some time silently reading before starting writing.  During writing, we focused on grammar and worked hard on daily oral language.  Today's co-curriculars were PE/Swim and Art/Eng.Tech.  During the afternoon we worked on science as a team.  We learned how making observations can help scientists lead to inferences (conclusions).  Here are some fun resources that go along with what we did in class today:

The games on the following site seem to work best with Internet Explorer.  Please experiment with the different browsers on your home computer to see which one will work.  Many kids have luck using an iPad.  The NSTA Mixing Colors in the middle of the bottom row is the most relevant but some of the others are fun too!

We ended the week on a great note!  We started the day with Friendship Friday and we share what everyone is looking forward to this weekend!  Kids also complimented each other by writing something nice on a sticky note and giving it to the person next to them.

In math we learned the exact age of the Constitution!  Ask your fourth grade math student to teach you how to figure out how old the Constitution will turn tomorrow!

We visited the Media Center and then spent some time learning more about the Constitution.  Today's co-curriculars were Engage and Eng. Tech or Art.  We also finished our beautiful decorated rocks based on yesterday's two wonderful stories You Be You and Only One You.

We enjoyed seeing everyone at Curriculum night last night.  We hope you all have a WONDERFUL weekend and see you Monday!

Fabulous Friendship Friday!

We had an INCREDIBLE week together! Today we wrapped up the week with friendship Friday activity first thing this morning. We talked about the importance of being kind as well as a good friend others. We organized our supplies and then went to the Media Center. Last, everyone picked out duct tape to decorate their bag of pebbles. We closed the day with some heartwarming stories of unlikely animal friendships. We hope you all have a great weekend and see you Monday!

Fabulous First Day!

We had an amazing day today! The day flew by! We learned a lot about BCS and today's co-curricular was PE. Remember that on Thursday the Harvath class will swim!
