Today was a FABULOUS Friday! We began with math (which I LOVE doing). The kids worked with multiplication using array models in order to see the larger numbers that they were multiplying. The HW is to finish JPs 229 & 230 from class, as well as complete JP 232 and HL 9.10. Also, fact quizzes and IXL are due on Sunday.
After math we worked on grammar, book clubs and most students also chose to work on their Native American Projects for a short time. The students also had the opportunity to work on their cursive.
After art and lunch, we had DEAR and then science. Although we had over an hour, it "flew" by (we were actually flying our FOSS planes) and since we went outside to do so, it seemed to make our class time go even faster!
Then, I had some time with the third graders while the fourth graders took a survey with Mrs. Nast and Mrs. Harvath. I, of course, had math activities planned, however, we continued a movie from Spanish that the kids started on Thursday and did not finish. The kids were just slightly annoyed with me for changing the language to Spanish, but I did put on the English subtitles. I am not sure what they were expecting from a former Spanish teacher.
Please remember that next week fourth graders need to turn in their 5/6 camp forms and that all students need to bring their Greenfield Village permission slip and money.
Also, a 5/6 class is collecting CLEAR, CLEANED, TWO-LITER BOTTLES for a greenhouse project. Please consider sending them in ASAP!
Thank you for reading and have a WONDERFUL weekend!
