Today was a great day! We began with daily grammar and then discussed our new book club genre - fantasy. We had a discussion about what students will encounter while reading their fantasy novels. Each group received their new book and began reading. After math we continued with book clubs.
In third grade math we continued to discuss multiplication. We worked on lesson 9.2, mostly JP 208. I demonstrated how to solve each problem and then students were to complete the page as HW. Also HW is JP 210 and HL 9.2.
After engage and lunch, we had DEAR. Next, we worked on a new grammar packet which involves adjectives, review work with nouns and verbs, prefixes and suffixes. Afterwards, we began a new chapter in Michigan History. Finally, we finished the day with a very productive classroom meeting. I went over planners but excused the kids from writing due to time constraints. (Many chose to write in their planner, though.) We barely had enough time for Clean Table Club!
Fourth graders will need their instrumental forms by Thursday.
All students will need their Reading Party permission slip by Friday. Also, we would love a few more volunteers to drive on 5/11 for our reading event. Please consider driving if your schedule would permit; we would be so grateful!
Thank you for reading and enjoy your evening!
