This morning we began by reading Frindle. It is quite an amusing story so far! After math, we had Writer's Workshop and we shared and revised our writing from yesterday.
Third grade math:
Today we reviewed the math tools that we will use throughout the year. We read clock, measured, used calculators and drew shapes using our Pattern Block Templates. Tonight's homework is Home Link 1.4
After lunch we had DEAR time and some students worked on their posters. Tuesday is a Spanish day so please be sure to ask your child about Spanish class AND check the Spanish teacher's website for homework. We also began working on our science wikis this afternoon. All students received a label with their log in information for use throughout the year. Our final activity of the day was learning about the Water Cycle.
Please remember to look through and sign your child's planner. PICTURE DAY IS TOMORROW!!

*Bring a water bottle to keep with you during class if you'd like
1) Math: 3rd: HL 1.4. Practice math facts for 10 minutes
4th: JP 9 and SL 1.4.
2) Reading: 20 minutes for third grade
30 minutes for fourth grade
3) We need shoeboxes and empty 2-liter pop bottles!
