Today was a great day! We began our morning with an activity to create our class contract. The kids did a fabulous job incorporating character traits into our contract. After math, we spent time on preparing for the MEAP. Swimming was the morning Co-Curricular.
Third grade math: Today was a great day! We checked the math boxes from lesson 1.13 and also discussed the 1.13 HL. Then, the students worked on a basic fact practice packet with addition and subtraction skills. We will correct the Unit 1 review tomorrow and the Unit 1 test is Thursday. However, if your child will be absent on Thursday and/or if your family will be celebrating Rosh Hashanah, the test can be taken on MONDAY instead.
After lunch we had DEAR and then Spanish! For the remainder of the afternoon we had co-teaching and the students worked on their group's science wiki. Lastly, we collaborated with the Harvath homeroom to finalize our Class Contract.
Also, if anyone would be willing and able to please help with leveling our classroom library, (looking up a book's guided reading level online and then labeling it accordingly) it would be very much appreciated. Please just stop in and visit or email me to let me know if you could help. It is something that can be done either here at school or at home. If you take some books home, your child can even help you with the process! :-)
The All About Me Newspapers are up in the hallway! Please stop by and visit to see just how fabulous they turned out! The kids worked really hard and it shows!
Thank you so much for reading and for checking and signing your child's planner!
