Fabulous Friday!

Today was absolutely fabulous!  We began with Sign of the Beaver.  We read chapter one and it a was very interesting!  We began the comprehension activities and will continue discussing them on Monday.  During our writing time we continued to investigate linking verbs.  The kids did a great job by the end of the lesson with linking verb recognition.  Then, we discussed our upcoming writing activity beginning on Monday... each child will need to bring a list of five things that are important to them.

During math, we discussed perimeter and then went over the math boxes on JP 83.  Afterwards, we discussed the unit 3 test and made corrections.  We ran out of time so we did not start the multiplication table activity; it is coming home as homework for the weekend.  Also, the Friday fact quizzes are posted on today's math post.  They are all due by Tuesday.

After Engineering Technology and lunch, we went to the Media Center for book checkout.  The kids were so interested in the penny war jugs... Remember, we are trying to collect as many pennies as possible to add to our positive balance!  All the funds raised go towards Kids Against Hunger and if we have the highest balance, we will be in charge on the day of the event here at BCS.  Please bring in your pennies!!

The remainder of the afternoon was filled with social studies salt dough fun!  We made awesome maps of Michigan!  I am sure your family will love this keepsake!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thank you for reading!

Here is our comic from this week!  All about Michigan studies!
