Stand4Change Friday!

*Please watch a new video (posted to the right) from last Friday's Kids Against Hunger food packaging event!

Today we had a fabulous day!  We began with grammar and book clubs.  Next, we had math.  During third grade math we worked more with partial products and then we had some computer time for fact quizzes.

After math, we completed a team activity for today's Stand4Change event.  We thought about the things from the past that have made us feel bullied, wrote them down, and then threw them in the "trash" to forget about them.  Later in the day, we thought of words and actions that we would appreciate from others and wrote them on a banner.  We created this very meaningful reminder of the activities and we're very excited to have taken the oath against bullying.

Before art, we celebrated Ahmed's birthday!  Thank you for the yummy treat, Ahmed!  Then, after art and lunch, we did planners, had DEAR, went to the Media Center and completed spelling tests.  When we returned, we had time to share many wonderful projects that have been created by students, completely on their own, during book clubs.  All of their work is posted on the wiki but it was really nice to have everyone share if they wanted.  After the final Stand4Change activity, we cleaned up quickly in order to play a quick game of Sharks and Minnows!

Two important events next week:
5/9/12 at 12:55: Engineering Technology Assembly Line Distribution Ceremony
5/11/12: Mom's Eat and Run (after our reading event at Maple Village)

Thank you for reading and have a WONDERFUL weekend!
