What a GREAT day back!

Today was a great day!  I was so happy to see everyone and get back to school!  We began the day with book clubs.  Many groups are working on projects to finish up the Realistic Fiction genre.  After math, we worked with helping verbs, cursive, and some Michigan activities.

In third grade math, we talked about symmetry.  I also returned many papers so please ask your child to see what I returned.  The homework is to finish JP 146 if not finished in class, JP 147 and HLs 6.8 & 6.9.  Also, please work on IXL for 50 minutes by Sunday 3/4.

After Engage and lunch, we had DEAR and then a wonderful birthday treat - Thank You Xavier and Happy Birthday!  Next, we spent time discussing Black History Month.  Today we learned about the Underground Railroad.  We will continue our exploration of Black History Month all week.  Then, we went to a Town Hall Meeting hosted by Mr. Hartley and Mrs. Chinn.  It led us into an excellent discussion afterwards regarding the 3 Es of BCS.  Students will be coming home with a "sentence" which is due on Wednesday.  Your child can explain exactly what it is.  We ended the day with a second birthday treat - Thank You Jake and Happy Birthday!

THERE WILL BE NO SWIMMING FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS DUE TO JUMP ROPE FOR HEART.  PLEASE LOOK FOR THE HANDOUTS TOMORROW AS WE WILL NEED VOLUNTEERS.

Please also remember to check other class blogs/wikis for important information and homework assignments.  The applicable blogs/wikis are on the left side of this page.
