A Magnificent Monday Back from Break!

Wow, our five day break flew by!  I was so glad to be back today!  We were SUPER busy all day long!  Lots of great things are coming home today so please ask your child about everything!  First, I returned the paragraph practice, the paragraph the kids wrote about Ethan Zucker and Scott Rigsby, as well as their first published small moment story.  All items had feedback but the only item that needs revision is the small moment.  By the end of the week, all small moment stories should be uploaded to the students' Language Arts Portfolio pages.

During math this morning, half the class worked with Mrs. Nast on piloting an online math program and then the other half had time to work on IXL.  The same will occur on Wednesday.

After math I introduced spelling to the class.  Each child has a instruction letter along with their personalized list of words.  I showed them how to get onto Spelling City (the link is right here on the blog) and I showed them the activities.  We will take the test here in school on Friday 12/9 so completing the spelling test at home is NOT necessary.

Engage was today's Co-Curricular.  After lunch we had DEAR and then our classroom meeting.  The remainder of the afternoon was spent on social studies.  I introduced the elevation map project.  Students will need their salt dough by WEDNESDAY for the activity.  A letter came home explaining the project along with the recipe.

Have a great evening!
