A Magnificent Monday!

*Please do not click "Next Blog."

Please be sure to check out the comic below from our second week together.  I posted it Saturday, just scroll down.

This morning we began book club.  It will be a very rewarding experience for your child.  Our first book is Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume.  Please ask your child to explain what they are doing.  Then, after math we had Writing Workshop.  We talked about adding detail to writing so that readers can paint a very clear picture of what is happening in our stories.  I shared two stories with the class that I wrote in my notebook.

Third grade math:
Today we reviewed lesson 1.7 and then began 1.8.  Our math message and lesson were centered around finding the difference between two number, using the number grid as a tool.  The homework is to finish JP 14 and complete home link 1.8

After lunch we had DEAR time, finished Frindle and then had our weekly Classroom Meeting.  We discussed classroom jobs again and then welcomed Ahmed to our class.  We had science this afternoon as well, during which we began to discuss Land and Water.  We also worked on finishing our digital water cycle projects.

Please remember to look through and sign your child's planner.  I did not sign planners since the children ended the day today with Engage.

Have a WONDERFUL evening!
