We're done with week two!

It was a SUPER week!  Wow, did it fly by quickly!

*Please do not click "Next Blog."

If your child has an iPod touch, a net book, an iPad or an old laptop, and you feel comfortable allowing him/her to bring it to school, please do so ASAP! We need to get the wireless information to our tech department so we can get everyone on our secure network. It will be extremely helpful in many subject areas, especially our upcoming Land and Water science unit!  *If your child will have access to an iPad, some excellent apps that I would like to use with the children are: ShowMe and ScreenChomp.

This morning we had an amazing presentation from Phillip; we were able to see photos from his visit to NYC for the 9/11 Memorial.  The pictures and what Phillip shared were truly incredible.  Thank you, Phillip, for sharing this experience!!  Next, we continued reading Frindle.  Who knew a Frindle become an international fad! Just ask your child how great the story has been...  After our wonderful math class, we had Writer's Workshop.  We began choosing from the memories we listed over the past two day.  Your students are writing some fabulous stories!

Third grade math:
Today we reviewed lesson 1.6 and then worked on 1.7.  We talked about chance, more specifically when we are certain versus uncertain that events will occur.  IXL IS AVAILABLE FOR THE NEXT TWO WEEKS!!  PLEASE spend as much time as you can practicing 3rd grade skills!  Our very own Shin Be who is one of the many IXL rock stars, demonstrated how to log on and choose skills to practice.

Before lunch was Engineering Tech and I am certain it was a great class, as always.  After lunch we had DEAR time, media center and read Time for Kids.  For the duration of the afternoon our scientists created water cycle diagrams using a variety of digital tools.
Please remember to look through and sign your child's planner and make sure all homework is complete before signing the planner.

Have a fabulous weekend!
